Emily Co-hosts from within the Bento Box!

Alert! I need help videotaping the running championships this weekend in Huntsville, TX. If you are planning on being there and want to help, let me know. You'll be on TV!
Ok, this show starts off with Emily and me talking about triathlon (click here to listen) and then us playing the voicemails from people trying to win the Bento Box while we go for a 3 mile run. Afterwards, I take you with me to Aggieland Cycles, play audio from another podcast describing high energy foods, and then surfing in Galveston. There are over 22 different audio tracks in this show. See if you can find them all.
I was very lucky to be interviewed by Endurance Radio recently. I couldn't have made it this far without the help of all of you in the Zentri Army, so thanks! Click here to listen to the interview.
Also, Richard and I co-hosted an episode of Runcast Weekly recently. We were supposed to release the show jointly, but I was too busy trying to put together this current show to be able to do it justice. He is all about running, and so many of you are true runners and should subscribe to his show. I heard a rumor that he's going to have the true "Man" of barefoot running on soon. Check out my co-hosting episode here and I'll release it as a podcast myself if I can get the chance.
Lastly, I played a short clip from Podclimber on this show. If you're interested in this topic, here's the whole interview - http://podclimber.com/index.php?id=46

erotic??????? well I can live with that being the manly man I am. cool to hear a podclimber clip in there as I know Larry the host. he runs the local climbing gym inclimb here in Bend...Good Guy.
Drew: it was definitely homo-erotic - I like the sound of Brett's voice too, but not in the way you do :P
Brett: Great show man! I enjoyed the part about kids, and I'm here to tell you it gets a LOT better! I have an 8 & 11 year old and it's great raising them in the triathlon lifestyle. To minimize the impact of triathlon on my family, I get up at 5am everyday to workout. I bike on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and once on the weekend, so really the only impact my 8-9 workouts a week have on them is on Tue and Thurs, and for an hour or two on the weekend. Yeah, it's hard to get up, but I'm the freak that chose triathlon :)
I take my daughter to swim practice on Sunday nights and I swim while she does. She loves it when I swim while she's practicing. I always see her pointing me out to other kids on her team...she's proud of me, and it makes me feel great that I'm setting a good example for her. Every now and then when I miss a morning workout and do a run in the evenings I take her also. She's looking forward to doing her first kids tri this year!
Catch a wave for me next time you go to the beach. I'm heading for a 3 day snowboarding trip with the guys this weekend. Should be good.
Here's a tidbit for the guy biking in Nepal. Right now there are two guys crossing Antarctica, it's winter and they won't have any daylight. I think they're planning on taking 2 months. One of the guys is planning on eating reindeer hearts and drinking pure olive oil to help him get the extra fat he needs. So there's an option for you. Kemperfi
Hey, speaking of long distance cycling...
Brett, taking Pam Reed's advice and breaking long run day into two parts works. I've done it before with good results.
How about cycling??? My long ride day is Sunday, but it's so much easier on my schedule to break a 4h ride into 2h in the am and 2h in the pm. Anyone have any experience with this?
I don't have any experience with spliiting bike rides up like that but I'm curious also as I ride about 50min each way to work and then have scheduling issues with long rides.
Joe Friel I thik said in the cycling bible that it was cool. I have a few really good racer freinds who do that and they have results so I think the cummalitive time in the saddle is the key.
I totally agree. I think splitting it up allows you to really apply yourself twice instead of dragging out a ride for too long and just beating yourself up for no reason.
Yeah, it was another interview on podclimber where they were talking about eating olive oil for calories. I wonder if there's a fuel made just from guacamole? Mmmmmmm.... forbidden fuel.
Thanks guys...
Brett, I've also got some audio on how I found your show, actually, the circumstances that surrounded it. Your Bento giveaway immediately reminded me of the first time I listened to your show. I'll try to record it and email it to you.
Keep up the good work (er play)!
I really enjoyed the show with Emily as your co host Brett..You two must have a good realtionship because you can tell that there is great interaction...
Also, I knew she MUST be cool when she started talking about Jan pushing 'big gears' and stuff like that...Awesome! More Emily on the Show..
