How to Deal With a Busted Rear Derailleur
Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 4:37PM
A quick video on how to deal with a mechanical issue that can ruin your ride. At 2 minutes in, I meant to say "replaceable rear derailleur hanger."

Nice to see further evolution in your coverage of content and experimenting with more video shorts. The MACRO mode I think only works for very close up (less than 12 inches) to get crisp detail and prevent "auto focusing". Thus alot of your footage shot in MACRO at more than 12 inches seemed both choppy and off focus.
Anyway, liked the essential theme of riding it out even when your derailler tanks - single speed all the way.
Other ideas for GEAR videos:
- general pre and post ride inspection, maintanance and upkeep of the bike
- choosing running shoes based on foot stride
- positioning on the bike (you'd need a stationary trainer for this)
- what to keep in your "tool box" in your car/mobile training unit
- tube change tips
- adjusting "tweaking" derailer shifting
- Running Shoe "quick lace" systems (elastic, tension ..etc)
- Go to a bike shop to have a mechanic demonstrate wheel truing, adjusting the drive-train or figuring out noises from your bottom bracket...etc)
Other ideas for general videos
- Running form
- how to figure out a flip turn in the pool
- trail-side "inspiration" - show us some of the spots you trail run & bike
- grocery store trip with holistic guru
- what to keep in your "training bag" day to day
- parts of a bike fit process
Keep up the general AWESOMENESS. Keep it Real. Keep Rising
Out.
the old " make it into a single speed in the woods never works well. get a surly singulator or a lx derailleur of an old used bike and keep it in our camel back. I also have a universal rear d hanger that will fit any bike so when you come across someone that forgot theirs you can save the day. i would also like vids of you shaving your head into a mowhawk.
