Wednesday Tri News and Notes

In a continuation of Specialized dropping pros like it is allergic to talent, Jan Frodeno signs with Canyon bikes.

And Slowtwitch did a review of "dumb" trainers. Honestly, don't ask ask your trainer to try to be smart - it doesn't lead to good things.

Tuesday Tri News and Notes

"Dimond adds influential triathletes Rapp & Thomas to help take their triathlon superbike even further into the future.

DES MOINES, IA Dimond Bikes, operating as part of Rüster Sports, LLC is pleased to announce a five year partnership with five-time Ironman Champion and ITU Long Distance World Champion, Jordan Rapp as well as four-time Wildflower Champion and two-time Ironman 70.3 Champion, Jesse Thomas."

More about them here with a cool video.

I also snagged a screengrab of how many hours Helle Frederiksen works out in a week. Keep in mind most of that is at an easy pace, not hard.

(Hi-tech screengrab software, I know.)

Lastly, a great trainer video of women's crit racing. It gets really intense!

Magnus Backstedt is going pro.  Say goodbye to your old bike split records.

Garmin continues to move away from in-car navigation devices and introduces three new smart watches instead.

Sunday Tri News and Notes

Pro bike racer Helen Wyman writes a detailed article about just how unfair UCI cycling is against women, comparing what the men do and get versus the women.  It really is unbelievable and makes you wonder what year we are actually in.

Joel Filliol's blog post summarizing the questions and answers about how to train like a top pro.  He drops a nice mention to ZenTri at the bottom, too!  "Form follows function," so think like a pro and you will train like one.  Stop overthinking it!

Saturday Triathlon News and Notes

I've started planning out the bike course for UltraBaby 2015!

The Garmin Connect route planning tool works well, but I'm not finding the total elevation gain output. Maybe there isn't one?

The Do’s And Don’ts Of Getting Leaner - Written by Matt Fitzgerald, who is admittedly a higher-carb guy.
