What Zen Is

It's considered a major faux pas to try to describe Zen.  Zen is existing right here and right now.  To try to translate that into words and you lose the essence.

If you are still trying to "get it", I stumbled upon something that can help.  What better way to describe Zen than to read The Essentials of Living like a Zen Monk.  Seriously, this is good stuff.

Make sure to read that posting's comments to find even more goodies.

That is why this post was so short! You can show Zen by example, but never try to actually describe it.

These are not the droids you are looking for. ;)

Good post.

Zen is.

I can think of examples of feeling very Zen that you recall later when you are thinking, instead of being. For every entity, for every moment, the art of being is different, yet Zen is inestimably the same.
