Mates of State......seriously? I saw them open for Rainer Maria (who has now since broken up) in 2002. It is funny to me now that they are on commericals and getting so popular. Welcome to the party....hee,hee.

Love the show, as always.

Awesome show. I totally agree with your cycling advice. I've been riding more on trainers and single-speed lately. When I do have time for a nice long ride, the speed and power is awesome! Also see a big carry-over to running strength as well.

Keep the rubber side down.

another great show Brett! the passing trucks always freak me out as I am running with headphones...I always have to look behind to make sure its the podcast and not a real truck. I guess I have good headphones eh?

Where is the "Link to Google Spreadsheet of carbs for fueling mixes."?

Dangit! Just published it in the shownotes. Thanks for reminding me!

still part way through your podcast.. don't forget 1/2 the reason you ride fixed is to do strength.. the other reason is for the cadence work / rounding out the stroke.

did ya try fixed on rollers yet?

as of more recently.. dude, SS mountain biking is __FUN__.

OK, I gave away all my secrets.. cya.

Still using the Straussburg socks? I've been wearing some off and on a few months now. They don't fix everything, but they definitely help if I have a flare up. You can tell the difference in the first steps out of bed if you've worn them or not. I found had to learn to wear them loosened up a bit too. Good show.
p.s. I tried Fig Newmans to help fuel my long run today and they agreed with me, I think they are a "keeper" for me for fueling.

so i get the carbs per hour, but how do you mix it as you go, are you storing the water in a camelbak and then filling an empty water bottle with part carbs part water.
maybe its a dumbass question but hey if you have a tip, that would be good

Yes, I ride with a camelbak or other water bottles and dilute the carb mix as I go. One sip of carb mix per 15 minutes, one big gulp of water to follow.
