Riding Rollers Vid

Hopped on the bike in the backyard for a fun ride. Emily shot and I pedaled with one foot!

Pretty cool way to avoid cars and traffic... it seems noisy or I am wrong? To know the speed I immagine you are not using a GPS watch since you are not going anywhere! lol Happy 2009 and good luck with the website restyling!

It's not noisy at all. Much quieter than a regular rear wheel trainer. I'm using a Suunto Bike Pod and T6c for speed and HR.

Thanks for the website compliments! Yes, much prettier.

Are you using Fisher-Price stools to steady yourself in the beginning? Is this required or optional equipment? Did you include this on your workout log?

Totally. Fisher-Price should go into the bike gear biz. Lightweight, waterproof, and no sharp edges!

OK.
I have been following the podcast for a while. I have heard you talk about the rollers and I finally ordered a set last week. These crazy things are trying to kill me. I bought a simply Nashbar brand and they look exactly like yours in the video. Do you have any tips or helpful hints for staying on. I may be safer in traffic.
Love the podcast. Thanks for the motivation.

Start in a narrow doorway and prop yourself up with your shoulders and elbows. Also, start with flat pedals instead of clip ins. Get good at that for a while. Be able to go for half an hour without falling off and you are good to graduate up to clipless pedals and in a more open area.
