PODCAST and FEAR TALK!

I interview Don Davis, founder and race director of the Survival of the Shawnagunks Triathlon.  This is truly a fantastic race, with eight legs and carrying your own running gear through the swims!  Listen in as Don describes how the race got started and some of the issues people have to deal with.

Don't forget, I will be hosting a talk on the Zen approach to fear and how to use it in the sport of triathlon.  The talk is 3 PM, Sunday, July 12, at the park atop the La Jolla cliffs on the south side of La Jolla Cove.  Here is a link to a map.  We will be at the northernmost tip of that park.  I will be wearing a white visor and a Half IM Buffalo Springs t-shirt.

Right after the talk, we will swim across that cove to the shore to the east... and back!  We will be putting our fear training to work!  Bring your swimsuit!

I've been a Volunteer for the SOS for the last 18 years. I've also listened to Zentri since the beginning. Although I've not participated as a Survivor I've always had a blast. I always meant to turn you on to this event, but I'm kind of a procrastinator. I'm glad you finally have become aware of the SOS. Over the years I have taken some photos & video of the SOS & other events in the area, which Ive posted on Flickr & Youtube. Please check them under my user name; MHTOPMAN, This is one of the most beautiful area's in the world & I feel fortunate to be living here. I usually do the bike sweep on the trails runs. Last year the last Survivor (who I rode next to on the sweep) had open heart surgery 8 months prior to the race.
