ZenTri Podcast - How to Train with the Polarized Method
Monday, February 18, 2013 at 5:02PM
This episode is a recording of my talk to the local triathlon club about how to train. I go over the Polarized training method, giving details on how to do it right.
I cover everything you need to know, including:
- How to find your bottleneck.
- How long to go hard.
- Correct spacing and timing of intervals.
- Advice from some of the world's fastest athletes.
- Getting really fast so your "easy" is at a great pace.
Enjoy!

Another awesome podcast Brett, could you possibly post the heart rate graphs you mention in the talk?
You bet! I'm putting together a document with the entire talk's content, including links to all the stuff I talked about. Should be out tomorrow!
Thanks so much - I've been listening to your show since about 2005, always a great source of inspiration!
Great podcast, i am passing it along to all my tri friends. I have been using this plan for my training over the past few months and I have seen dramatic improvements in my speed. I have even seen it bleed into my slow endurance training with running 1.5-2 minutes faster per mile at the same easy intensity and maffetone HR.
