ZenTri 502 - Interview with Vinnie Tortorich

(Vinnie Kicking Butt on the Bike)

Vinnie is the real deal.  He was a full scholarship footballer for Tulane, then converted over to endurance sports.  He eventually became one of the first "Hollywood Trainers", making appearances on many shows, including Oprah's.

After crossing paths a few times, we eventually recorded his take on how to train at a high level.  This interview is all about his life, nutrition, and his top-rated podcast, "America's Angriest Trainer."

I now consider Vinnie a great friend and a valuable resource to help make sense of the multisport world.  I'm sure you will, too.

Enjoy!

How to Assemble Swedish Goggles, the Swedish Way.

Nootca recently put out a decidely "cool" video on how to assemble their Swedish googles.

The clean and simple video styling is definitely Scandinavian.  Sweden also likes to mix in a little gothic horror with their films, as seen below.

These fine people are actual Ikea customers, shocked by the build quality of the flat-packed kitchen they just bought.

The Scandinavian countries are also the "mother ship" of the best death metal.  Maybe it's the long, cold nights or, maybe it's having reindeer snout for breakfast, again.  Either way, I think the following soundtrack would make for a much better audio backdrop for the goggle video.

The thunderous guitar and screaching bull feathered thing would distract you from the pain of ramming plastic cups right into your eye sockets.

Review - Thunderbird Energetica Bars

I was cruising through Whole Foods in Austin, and just had to pick these up.  I had heard about Thunder Energetica before, so I wanted to give them a taste and share what I found.

A lot of what these bars have going for them is that they are fun to buy and open.  Handmade?  Blessed by a shaman?  Really?  A lot of sales has to do with the experience more than the product itself, and Thunderbird is definitely an experience.

The bars themselves are great.  Simple ingredients, tasty, a variety of flavors, and super healthy.  Not only that, but the company is run by endurance athletes.

My first taste was a little, "Meh, another health bar."  But there was nothin' but wrapper left of both bars in just a couple of hours.  Definitely proof of good stuff.

Distribution may be limited right now, but check out their website for more details.
